Sandridge in Pictures

1960s. Looking north just past Pound Farm. Mrs. Menlove at her cottage. Before 1900 this cottage was an alehouse known as the "Poor Man's Friend" (or the "First and Last"). The smaller window facing the pavement used to be a 'stable' door through the top half of which the jugs of beer, etc., were served.
