Reg Auckland

Reg and Wife at sandrideg Village Post OfficeReg Auckland used to run the village post office, as shown in this 1950's picture. He ran it till 1985, with his wife, Peg (née Sullivan). He was also a village councilor. He lived there till he passed on. He was very active in his retirement, as well as our local historian, he was fonnder member and joint president of the Psywar Society. An International Association of Collectors of Aerial Propaganda Leaflets. Their website is fascinating and well worth a visit. Reg has written many publications on this subject which are listed below.

He was also a keen radio amateur and at 60 learnt Morse code and passed his short wave license.
